The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Niger Delta APC Progressive Movement for Renewed Hope Initiative, a socio-political group comprising members drawn from the nine (9) states of the Niger Delta region and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the Executive Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Honourable Christopher Zakka (Maikalangu), ahead of his bid for a second term in office.
The resolution was reached during a meeting of the National Executive Council, where members reviewed the performance, leadership qualities, and people-oriented governance of Hon. Zakka since assuming office as AMAC Chairman.
Speaking on behalf of the group, the National Coordinator, Prince General Omoko, stated that the decision to endorse Hon. Zakka was based on his proven track record in grassroots development, inclusive governance, infrastructural improvements, and alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Prince Omoko recalled that the Niger Delta APC Progressive Movement worked tirelessly during the 2023 general elections to ensure the emergence of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, stressing that the group remains committed to supporting leaders at all levels who uphold the party’s ideals and deliver tangible dividends of democracy to the people.
Honourable Christopher Zakka (Maikalangu) has demonstrated exemplary leadership in AMAC. His administration reflects competence, transparency, and genuine concern for the welfare of residents. We are confident that a second term will consolidate the gains already recorded,” Prince Omoko said.
Consequently, the National Executive Council mandated the Abuja Chapter of the movement, particularly members residing within the Abuja Municipal Area Council, to actively canvass, mobilize, and galvanize support for the re-election of Hon. Christopher Zakka as Chairman of AMAC in the forthcoming council election scheduled for Saturday, 21st February, 2026.
The group expressed optimism that the people of AMAC will once again entrust Hon. Zakka with the mandate to continue his developmental strides, describing him as a dependable grassroots politician and a loyal party man.
The National Executive Council also congratulated Hon. Christopher Zakka in advance, wishing him success at the polls and reaffirming its unwavering support for his leadership and re-election bid.
