Abuja, Nigeria:2026

The Coalition of Niger Delta Agitators, comprising stakeholders of Urhobo, Isoko, Itsekiri and Ogoni extraction, has declared total support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, citing what it described as “remarkable strides” recorded under the Renewed Hope Agenda in the Niger Delta region.

In a communiqué issued at the end of its strategic meeting in Abuja on Monday, the coalition expressed profound appreciation to the Federal Government for prioritizing stability, development, and inclusive governance in the oil-rich region.
The group commended the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR; the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; and the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Dennis Brutu Otuaro, for what it termed a renewed commitment to peacebuilding, human capital development, and infrastructural transformation across the Niger Delta.
Recognition of Key Achievements
The coalition said it carefully reviewed ongoing reforms and interventions of the Tinubu administration and acknowledged measurable progress within less than three years in office.
Expansion of the Presidential Amnesty Programme
The group particularly applauded reforms within the Presidential Amnesty Programme under Chief Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro. According to the communiqué, the programme has expanded beyond its traditional scope to include vulnerable Niger Delta youths, thereby addressing root causes of unrest and preventing future instability.
It noted that over 9,000 Niger Delta youths—including ex-agitators and individuals from crisis-impacted communities—have reportedly been enrolled in universities locally and internationally within two years. Beneficiaries have also received laptops, tuition support, and welfare assistance, including medical coverage for documented and undocumented ex-agitators.

The coalition described the intervention as “unprecedented in the history of the Programme,” adding that the initiative has helped cushion the socio-economic impact of fuel subsidy removal on families in the region.
Empowerment and Inclusive Engagement
The communiqué further highlighted the empowerment of ex-agitator leaders and key stakeholders across the Niger Delta. It emphasized that women leaders, traditional rulers, and youth representatives are now increasingly integrated into dialogue platforms and decision-making processes relating to regional security and development.

The coalition stated that this inclusive approach has strengthened trust between local communities and the Federal Government.
Strengthening Indigenous Security and Oil Sector Participation
The group also commended support for indigenous security companies safeguarding oil and gas infrastructure, including Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited. According to the coalition, enhanced pipeline surveillance and protection have contributed to improved crude oil production levels, reduced vandalism, and expanded employment opportunities for youths in the region.
It described this as a strategic step toward
increasing local participation in the petroleum value chain and promoting economic inclusion.
Infrastructure and Environmental Remediation

The coalition praised the renewed drive of the Niger Delta Development Commission in delivering critical infrastructure projects across the region, including improvements in public schools, electricity supply, healthcare facilities, sports centres, and community-based empowerment schemes.
It also welcomed progress on the long-awaited Ogoni clean-up initiative, describing it as a significant environmental justice milestone for impacted communities.
Strategic Political Appointments

The group further noted what it described as improved representation of Niger Delta sons and daughters in key national positions, including ministerial and senior civil service appointments. It said such inclusion reflects a more balanced and participatory federal structure.

Declaration of Support for 2027
After what it called a “comprehensive and objective assessment” of the administration’s performance in the region, the coalition formally:
Declared total support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 to consolidate ongoing reforms and deepen development gains in the Niger Delta and across Nigeria.
Passed a vote of confidence on Chief Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, for expanding educational access, social security support, and youth empowerment initiatives within a short period.
Call for Unity and Continued Peace

The coalition urged all Niger Delta stakeholders—traditional institutions, youth groups, women organizations, political leaders, and civil society actors—to unite in support of sustained peace, economic growth, and national cohesion.
It emphasized that dialogue, inclusion, and responsible leadership remain critical to long-term stability in the region.

“Together, we can steer Nigeria toward unity, prosperity, and the fulfillment of our collective aspirations,” the communiqué stated.
The communiqué was signed by General Prince Omoko, National Coordinator of the Coalition of Niger Delta Agitators.
The group concluded with prayers for the peace and progress of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and reaffirmed its commitment to constructive engagement with the Federal Government in pursuit of sustainable development in the Niger Delta.
