Zangon Kataf, Kaduna State —2025

The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Her Excellency Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, on [today’s date], represented Governor Uba Sani at the Atyab Buffet organised in honour of the Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area.
Delivering the Governor’s remarks, Dr. Balarabe conveyed the deep appreciation of the Kaduna State Government for General Musa’s outstanding service to the nation and his exemplary leadership in the defence sector. Governor Uba Sani described General Musa as a leader whose career has been defined by strength of character, courage, conscience, and inclusiveness, noting that true leadership is not accidental but earned through years of discipline, dedication, and service.
According to the Governor, three core values have propelled General Musa to the pinnacle of his distinguished military career: preparation, principle, and patriotism. He explained that preparation ensured the Defence Minister was ready long before the call to higher responsibility, while principle gave him steadiness and clarity in moments of challenge and uncertainty. Patriotism, the Governor added, has consistently guided General Musa to place national interest above personal comfort, and duty above self.
Governor Uba Sani expressed the pride of the people and government of Kaduna State in General Musa, describing him as a worthy ambassador who has brought honour, credibility, and distinction to the state and the nation at large.
Earlier in his remarks, General Christopher Gwabin Musa commended Governor Uba Sani for his sustained efforts at promoting peace, unity, and inclusive governance across Kaduna State. He urged residents to continue to cooperate with the government at all levels, stressing that lasting peace and development cannot be achieved by government alone, but require the collective commitment of the people.
The Defence Minister cautioned against bitterness and resentment, describing them as dangerous obstacles to peace and progress. He advocated forgiveness and reconciliation as essential pathways to healing and unity, encouraging communities to focus on shared values and common interests rather than issues that divide them.

General Musa further emphasized the importance of dialogue, mutual respect, and understanding, noting that peace remains the foundation for security, development, and national stability.
In his address, the Paramount Chief of Zangon Kataf Chiefdom, His Royal Highness Sir Dominic Yahaya Gambo, offered prayers for sustained peace and harmony in the Chiefdom and across Kaduna State. He praised the gathering as a symbol of unity and reconciliation, and announced the conferment of traditional titles on prominent sons and daughters of the Chiefdom, as well as other distinguished individuals, in recognition of their contributions to peace, development, and community service.
The event attracted traditional rulers, government officials, community leaders, and well-wishers from within and outside Kaduna State, underscoring the widespread respect and goodwill enjoyed by General Christopher Gwabin Musa and the collective commitment to peace and unity in Southern Kaduna and beyond.
