The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (GCFR), has expressed deep appreciation to the people of Zangon Kataf and Southern Kaduna for the warm reception organized in his honour at the Atyab Buffet, Zangon Kataf, Kaduna State.

Speaking during the event, General Musa described the gathering as a powerful symbol of unity, love, and collective support, noting that the prayers and encouragement of his people have been a constant source of strength throughout his career in national service.
“I am deeply honoured by the warm reception organized in my honour. I remain grateful to my people for their unwavering support and prayers over the years,” the Defence Chief said.
Message of Peace and Reconciliation
General Musa used the occasion to emphasize the importance of collective responsibility in achieving lasting peace and sustainable development, particularly in communities affected by division and conflict.

According to him, bitterness and resentment only weaken society, while forgiveness, reconciliation, and dialogue remain the strongest tools for unity and progress.
“Bitterness divides us, but forgiveness and reconciliation strengthen our unity. By focusing on our shared values and common interests, we can work together to build a more peaceful and prosperous Kaduna State,” he stated.

Commendation for Kaduna State Leadership
The Defence Chief also commended Governor Uba Sani for his commitment to sustaining peace and stability across Kaduna State. He acknowledged the Governor’s representation at the event by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, describing the administration’s peace-building efforts as timely and impactful.

“I appreciate His Excellency, Governor Uba Sani, ably represented by Her Excellency, the Deputy Governor, for his consistent efforts toward peace and inclusive governance in Kaduna State,” he added.

Recognition of Traditional Leadership
General Musa further expressed gratitude to the Paramount Chief of Zangon Kataf Chiefdom, Sir Dominic Yahaya Gambo, for his prayers for sustained peace and for recognizing outstanding sons and daughters of the Chiefdom who have contributed to community and national development.
He noted that traditional institutions remain vital partners in promoting peace, unity, and moral leadership at the grassroots.
Call to Service and National Unity
Concluding his remarks, the Chief of Defence Staff urged citizens to continue prioritizing unity, mutual respect, and service to Kaduna State and Nigeria at large.

“Let us remain committed to unity and selfless service to our State and our nation,” he said.

The event was attended by community leaders, government officials, youth representatives, and other dignitaries from across Southern Kaduna, further reinforcing the message of reconciliation and shared responsibility for peace.
