Dr. Sanni Abdulllahi Ozomata Speaks on Investment Opportunities at Ajaokuta Economic City Unveiling in Abuja

At the unveiling of the Ajaokuta Economic City (Kogi Human Free Trade Zone) held yesterday at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, the Technical Adviser to the Executive Governor of Kogi State on Multilateral and Donor-Funded Projects, Dr. Sanni Abdullahi Ozomata, DVM, reaffirmed the state’s commitment to positioning Kogi as a leading destination for industrial growth and global investment.

Addressing journalists on the sidelines of the summit, Dr. Ozomata described the Ajaokuta Economic City as “a transformative economic corridor designed to unlock large-scale industrialization, attract high-value investors, and create a modern economic ecosystem for Kogi State and Nigeria at large.”

He noted that the Human Free Trade Zone model adopted for the project would provide investors with a competitive environment, backed by efficient infrastructure, policy incentives, and government support. According to him, the zone will serve as a catalyst for innovation, manufacturing, logistics, and export-oriented industries.

Dr. Ozomata emphasized that the initiative aligns with the development agenda of the Kogi State Government, particularly its focus on sustainable growth, job creation, and strategic public–private partnerships. He highlighted the ongoing engagement with multilateral organizations and development partners, describing their involvement as “critical to ensuring long-term viability and inclusive economic impact.”

He assured stakeholders that the government remains committed to creating a transparent, secure, and business-friendly climate that will give investors the confidence needed to operate within the new economic city.

The unveiling brought together policymakers, investors, diplomats, development agencies, and private-sector leaders, all exploring opportunities within the ambitious Ajaokuta Economic City project.
