Commissioner of finance kogi state Hon Asiwaju idris Hails Governor Ododo Leadership at Abuja Unveiling of Ajaokuta Economic City Project

Leaders, investors, and development partners converged at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, on Tuesday for the official unveiling of the Ajaokuta Economic City and Kogi Human Free Trade Zone. The event, which drew national attention, had in attendance the Governor of Kogi State and several high-profile dignitaries committed to driving Nigeria’s industrial growth.

Speaking with journalists after the summit, the Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, praised the vision behind the project and described it as a transformational step for Kogi State.

Hon. Idris emphasized that the initiative represents a new chapter in the state’s drive toward economic expansion, job creation, and global investment attraction. He noted that such a milestone was made possible through visionary and disciplined leadership at the helm of the state’s affairs.

“We thank God for blessing us with a governor who truly understands leadership,” he said.
“His commitment, clarity of purpose, and passion for development are the reasons we are witnessing this historic step today. The Ajaokuta Economic City will reshape our economy and open doors of opportunities for generations to come.”

He further highlighted that leadership is not only about holding office but about setting direction, inspiring action, and ensuring that projects with long-term benefits are prioritized.

“Good leadership is the backbone of progress,” Idris added.
“Our governor has shown exemplary courage and consistency, and that is why investors have confidence in Kogi State.”

The commissioner expressed optimism that the Ajaokuta Economic City project will strengthen industrialization, enhance revenue generation, and position Kogi as a strategic economic hub in Nigeria.

The unveiling event ended with assurances from partners and investors to support the successful implementation of the project.
