At the SHE Conference 3.0 (2025), themed “The Value Added Woman,” held on 26th November at the Arts and Culture Centre, humanitarian advocate and hospitality professional Shetu J. Gamaliel, founder of Chef Mimi Project 100 / DAP Limited, was celebrated for her remarkable service to humanity and her contributions to the culinary and hospitality sector.
Speaking with journalists after receiving her award, Chef Gamaliel expressed heartfelt appreciation for the recognition.
“Receiving this award today is truly amazing,” she said. “Being acknowledged for work done behind closed doors, without cameras or attention, means so much to me. I deeply appreciate the organizers and everyone who made this event possible.”
She noted that the award aligns perfectly with the conference theme, explaining that her work often takes her to remote communities where there is no visibility, yet the impact remains significant.
“This award gives us hope. In rural areas where we serve, there are no lights or cameras, but we go because humanity calls. For the first time, we are being noticed and recognized for what we do.”
Chef Gamaliel went on to express gratitude to her support system.
“First, I thank God Almighty for this honor. I dedicate this award to my husband, who has supported me through the late nights, the constant movement, and all the financial responsibilities. I also dedicate it to my children—this will make them so happy
Her recognition at the SHE Conference 3.0 reinforces her reputation as a woman of value, compassion, and impact, committed to uplifting communities through service, food, and hope.
